Vancouver mayor to push for Broadway rapid transit line
VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson will plug his vision for a rapid transit line for the Broadway corridor at a town hall meeting today.
He says it’s already North America’s busiest bus line and the future economic development of the region depends on expanding transit capacity.
The line leads to the University of BC, which recently split the cost of a $100,000 KPMG report about the need for transit.
But paying for such a massive transportation project is a key concern as other cities such as Surrey also vie for transit funding.
