The Vancouver Canucks snapped their five game losing streak with a 3-2 overtime win over the Calgary Flames Saturday night but their minds where elsewhere after a scary moment early in the 2ndperiod.
Jannik Hansen skated straight to the bench after taking a hit from Dennis Wideman of the Flames. Hansen remained hunched over on the bench after the hit and then hit body appeared to go limp. His teammates caught him and banged their sticks and shouted to get the play stopped.
Hansen was taken to a local hospital to be checked out. "He’s at the hospital but everything is checking out," Canucks coach Willie Desjardins said after the game. "It's concerning. He seemed like he couldn't get his breath there. He kind of went down. When that happens it's not usual, so you're concerned. But everything's checked out at the hospital and everything is fine.”
It looks like Jannik Hansen is going to be just fine, which is a big relief after such a scary moment.
